Clorot, a Traditional and Unique Food from Purworejo
Here I want to share you a traditional food from Purworejo, named "clorot"
Clorot is a kind of cake. Originally from the Grabag Village, Purworejo, Central Java, Indonesia. Clorot made from rice flour, brown sugar, coconut milk, salt, and pandan leaves to add the taste. The shape is like a cone. There is something like a stem at the bottom of clorot. The clorot's wripper comes from "janur", it's the leaves of coconut tree.
Clorot is unique from the taste and the way we eat it. For people who do not know, they will open the wrapper. Actually how to eat it is quite simple. You just need to push the stemp ,located at the bottom of the clorot, then the clorot will come out, and ready to eat. Now, clorot is hard to find. It is a kind of a rare food. Clorot can only be found in traditional markets.
For Purworejo people, especially Grabag Village, clorot is a typical food that usually serve when there are traditional events and Ied. But, you still clorot if you're curious with the taste, because beside the taste is unique , clorot can also last up to two days.
