Macaron


Blinks, finally the first episode of Blackpink House is out! If you have not watched it yet, I highly suggest you watch it before you read this article. It was fun to watch during your stressful time because there are lots of fun stuff.




For you who do not know Blackpink, I will introduce them to you. So, Blackpink is a South Korean girl band under an agency named YG Entertainment, one of the biggest K-pop agency in South Korea. Consisting of four members Jisoo, Lisa, Rose, and Jennie. They debuted as Blackpink in 2016. Blink is their fandom name.
Well, some people might be confused, a macaron or a macaroon? What is the difference? Here is the explanation. 

First, a macaron is a meringue-based cookie. It is a rounded confection with a delicious filling of buttercream or jam between the shells. It has many variations in color and filling. Second, a macaroon is a mounded coconut based cookie. It is extremely sweet. Some of the popular variations of macaroon are chocolate-dipped, lemon-flavored, and squared. 
Macarons are French cookies, you will easily find them in French common bakeries. In Jogjakarta, there are several bakeries that sell macaron such as:
1. Chez Moi
2. Paris Bakery
3. Delicia
4. Cinema Bakery

Or maybe you want to make it on your own? It only needs simple ingredients, and you can have an experiment with different flavor and color.

For the shell:
Here are some ingredients you probably need:
Icing sugar (powdered sugar)
Ground almonds (almond flour)
Egg whites
Small pinch salt
Caster sugar (fine sugar)
Food coloring (optional)

For the filling:
Unsalted butter (softened)
Icing sugar (powdered sugar)
