Sleeping is a biological necessity of
every living being, not to mention humans. Humans need rest to relieve fatigue
due to daily activities. In addition to relieve fatigue, it turns out to sleep
at night also provide benefits for our bodies. Here are some
importance of sleeping:
1. Increase the body resistance
When we sleep at the night, the body produces hormone melatonin which one of its functions is an antioxidant to ward off viruses and free radicals. If our sleeping time is less, then the production of this hormone melatonin will also be reduced. So, it makes the immune system lower. In addition, in order to maximize the release of this hormone melatonin, it is preferable to sleep in the dark place than in the bright place because it is able to inhibit the process.
2. Regenerating cells
The process of regenerating cells occurs when we are sleeping. If our sleeping time is less, then this process will not run perfectly. Therefore, sleep is enough to optimize the cell regeneration process. So, there will be some new energies to start the activity in the morning.
3. Improve memory quality
When we are sleeping, there is a process of memory consolidation in our brain. The memories, feelings, and events that occur are recorded in our brain will be consolidated when we sleep. Therefore, no wonder if we are experiencing problems it will carry dreams. Well, the more often the brain to do this process will be more sharply the brain in consolidating memory. Therefore, the better our sleep quality will increase our memory capacity.
4. Improve metabolic processes
The digestive organs are one of the organs in the body that constantly work
non-stop, even when we sleep. In fact, this digestive organ works best when we
sleep. When we are sleeping, the stomach will perform peristaltic movement that
aims to drain the entire contents of the stomach. Therefore, do not be
surprised if many people who have habit of defecating in the morning after
waking up.
