WARMINDO, a Cheap Stall in Jogja






























    At first WARMINDO is just a stall that provides one menu of green beans porridge and black sticky rice mixed with coconut milk. But now, WARMINDO stall is not only with the menu of green beans porridge.The business of WARMINDO or burjo in Jogja now has more concept of building with drinks and foods. The origin of the WARMINDO makes consumers call this stall as a burjo stall. Not only a stall which provides green beans porridge .
    Do you wonder how much is the price of foods and drinks in WARMINDO? Don’t worry, it is relative cheap. The food’s prices are starting from Rp. 7.000 to Rp.12.000,- and the beverages are from free (water) to Rp.7.000,- .

    How about the history?  At that time, Indonesia was about 2 years after independence. The economic and political conditions that existed in Indonesia were still unstable, coupled with the feud that happened with the Dutch side that has not been completed makes the situation more difficult for the poor people.Poor people should strive to survive amid high prices of daily needs. The situation makes the people use various ways to survive.They built a stall to afford their daily lives. That is the earliest origin of why a burjo (WARMINDO) can be created.

    In 1947,At that time Rurah (lurah in Sundanese) Salim Santana, who is a former in the village hamlet kliwon balong, was recognized as the first person to make green beans porridge or burjo.     Nowadays,the WARMINDO stall business are speed of serving drinks and food using instant products, such as egg rice, instant noodles, and green beans porridge. Besides, the price listed on the menu is also affordable for all circles. The origin of WARMINDO makes the middle-class visitors down to stay faithful to eat at the burjo.

   The concept of WARMINDO is now also not always in a small place. Now WARMINDO is present in a building, which sometimes also the building concept is changed in such a way by the owner, so it is different from other burjo. Even the WARMINDO wrapped in modern nuances have been present and you can meet at some places in your city, especially in Jogja.


   Some WARMINDO open for 24 hours, because sometimes visitors who want to eat and drink in midnight, or chit chat and relax here. Food and beverages  which  are provided in WARMINDO are usually instant foods and drinks so you do not need to linger for your order to come. Now,you are not only a visitor who comes to WARMINDO with hungry stomach but also has an insight into the origin of WARMINDO.
