Poem Analysis: She Dwelt Among the Untrodden Ways

She Dwelt among the Untrodden Ways
By: William Wordsworth

She dwelt among the untrodden ways
Beside the springs of Dove,
A Maid whom there were none to praise
And very few to love:

A violet by a mossy stone
Half hidden from the eye!
-Fair as a star, when only one
Is shining in the sky.

She lived unknown, and few could know
When Lucy ceased to be;
But she is in her grave, and, oh,
The difference to me!

This poem was written by William Wordsworth. William Wordsworth was born in 1770 and died in 1850. This poem was written in Germany and published in 1798. In 17 eras there was known as the romantic age. The poem that includes in romantic age tells about sympathy, dream, and believe in liberty. Those of all have melancholy and lonely tone. This poem is including into romantic genre. This poem was written using the ballad form, rhymed abab.
The poem "She Dwelt among the Untrodden Ways" is unique and quite strange for me. Otherwise, this poem is so amazing. Although it consists of three short stanzas, it is not easy to know what things that actually the author says. In my opinion, it is because literature has more than one perception. This poem tells us about the girls named Lucy. A whole content of this poem could be called as the representative of Lucy’s growth, perfection, and death.  In this poem, William says that Lucy is a beautiful woman. Shes like the star in the sky and nature. Besides, the author says that Lucy was lonely and not important for the others. Meanwhile, there is the man who really loves her. It shows with the line in the first stanza that the men know all the things about Lucy.  He admires her it showed in the second stanza. The first two stanzas focus on Lucy while she is still alive, and the last stanza tells the reader of Lucy's death and the poet's response to it. In these short stanzas, the poet tells of his admiration and singular devotion to Lucy and his utter despair over her death.  It is shown in the last line when he says that everything will be changed (feel not same) without Lucy. Even the man just admires her, but it sounds like true love when the man doesnt have another woman. I think that the purpose of this poem is to send a message about the existence of the individual or someone is important. So, we should appreciate the presence of others.

Short Story Analysis : A Haunted House by Virginia Woolf

A Haunted Hous e by Virginia Woolf             Whatever hour you woke there was a door shutting. From room to room they went, hand in hand, lifting here, opening there, making sure—a ghostly couple.             “Here we left it,” she said. And he added, “Oh, but here too!” “It’s upstairs,” she murmured. “And in the garden,” he whispered “Quietly,” they said, “or we shall wake them.”                But it wasn’t that you woke us. Oh, no. “They’re looking for it; they’re drawing the curtain,” one might say, and so read on a page or two. “Now they’ve found it,” one would be certain, stopping the pencil on the margin. And then, tired of reading, one might rise and see for oneself, the house all empty, the doors standing open, only the wood pigeons bubbling with content and the hum of the threshing ma...
