A short story from a novel The Language of Thorns: Midnight tales and Dangerous Magic written by Leigh Bardugo. In this story there is a girl named Ayama who lived under the rule of a sly king. She has a sister who is way more beautiful than her in the term of physic which makes her parents treat them differently. As Kima, her sister, training herself to be a princess for a prince, Ayama only allowed to go wonder around her house limited to the kitchen. The world is so cruel for Ayama.

One day, she sent to the thorn wood as the one who needs to sacrifice herself to protect the kingdom because the beast, which is the king's son, begin to destroying the kingdom and disturbing the townspeople. Her family keeps insisting her to do that because if she manages to stop the mess caused by the beast, her family will get rewards from the king.

Sooner or later Ayama gave up to protect herself from it, and she decided to think positively while she does this scary mission. She is actually frightened for what waits her in the wood because nobody has ever come back alive from that thorn wood, but on her way there, she thinks at least she will see something new before she dies. All she does in her life only do the chores which bores her but she is kind of grateful the townspeople made her to do this mission.

As she reaches the wood and begins to stroll the wood, she finds the beast who made the fuss. In this first night, she manages to make a deal with him. The only way she can do it is by telling him an interesting story without telling any lie. She is coming back and forth to the wood until finally Ayama and the beast decided to fight the king who is originally cruel. At the end, Ayama and the beast, who is a prince, married and rule the kingdom replacing his father's throne.

This story shows us that as bad and bitter our lives is there will be remedies to replace it as long as we worked hard to change it, even with no hope and dream. We are told to always have positive mind anywhere we go, everywhere we are, anytime we can. It also teaches us something important, in this world we cannot only focus and see on the beautiful physics, there are much more pretty things if we keep aside the thought of 'beautiful physically'. The dark and creepy concept of fairy tale in this story is very clear so everybody who enjoys fairy tale is being treated well.

Short Story Analysis : A Haunted House by Virginia Woolf

And he added, “Oh, but here too!” “It’s upstairs,” she murmured. “And in the garden,” he whispered “Quietly,” they said, “or we shall wake them.”                But it wasn’t that you woke us. Oh, no. “They’re looking for it; they’re drawing the curtain,” one might say, and so read on a page or two. “Now they’ve found it,” one would be certain, stopping the pencil on the margin. And then, tired of reading, one might rise and see for oneself, the house all empty, the doors standing open, only the wood pigeons bubbling with content and the hum of the threshing machine sounding from the farm. “What did I come in here for? What did I want to find?” My hands were empty. “Perhaps it’s upstairs then?” The apples were in the loft. And so down a
